On Sundays, during adult services, our Sunday Club caters for all school-age children and we have crèche facilities for those younger. The children join us for the first few minutes of the service and then go to their age-related groups in Sunday Club.
On Family Service Sundays the children remain in the service all the way through. The service is intentionally child and family-friendly, being shorter (45-50 mins), interactive and fun, with activities and games as well as worship, singing and teaching.
One of the most exciting projects underway at Church Langley Church is the recently opened youth club called Rock Youth, which is now up and running on Thursday evenings at the Community Centre.
Rock opened in January 2011 and regular attendees enjoy their own space to use as they wish within a safe and caring environment. The club offers table tennis, table football, pool, two PS2s, internet access, a variety of games and activities, and a chill-out space. We are planning theme nights every now and again to include, possibly, a disco, film nights, and sports events.
The club is manned by leaders who are on hand to help with activities and chat with anyone who wants to.
Towards the end of the evening there is a chance to join in a discussion on all sorts of subjects in a free and easy manner, if you want to do so.
Rock Youth is open Thursday evenings during school term-time from 7pm to 9.30pm. It is open to anybody of secondary school age, and entry is free of charge. You can stay all evening or drop in and out as you wish.
If this sounds good to you, why not come along and give it a try? You'll find a warm welcome and lots to do. More information at the Rock Youth website.
